Daughter of Edith and Edward Waterfield, Victoria grew up as a normal young lady in an upper class home in London. When she was at the age of eleven, her mother passed away. From then on, her father seemed to be rather interested in things mostly involving his colleague, Theodore Maxtible, more than herself. Dealing with that, Victoria seemed fine with everything that had come to pass, though obviously rather upset with her mother’s death. She was fourteen when events would come to pass that would bring changes in her life forever, possibly for the better despite the negativity that came with it.

Having experimented with time travel, her father accidently established a link between his colleague’s home and a planet by the name of Skaro. On this planet were a group of rather fearsome aliens known as the Daleks. Unaware that this had happened at first, Victoria remained sheltered from everything until the Daleks realized that holding her captive would force her father and Maxtible to do whatever they liked. With this on their intelligent minds, the Daleks kidnapped Victoria and used her to get their way when it came to her father and her partner. Having been taken prisoner, Victoria was eventually moved onto the planet Skaro where she remained as a hostage, being used to attempt the creation of a new generation of Daleks with human characteristics. It was at this point that a man known only as ‘The Doctor’ arrived with a Scotsman by the name of Jamie McCrimmon.

During this time, her father eventually gave his life for the Doctor leaving Victoria now as an orphan, having lost both parents. Because of this experience in her life, Victoria prepared herself for the many advanced civilizations that were to come. Having no family to return to, she joined the Doctor and Jamie on their travels through space, though this was more through necessity than choice, as it were.

Her trips with the Doctor were few and far between, but they were rather exciting nonetheless, during which she came to know the Cybermen and Yetis. While on her travels with the boys, Victoria even managed to show off some of her acting skills for a while, pretending to be Jamie’s girlfriend for a man named Salamander in order to save the planet with the Doctor. She even showed off a bit of cooking skill, having pretended to be a young servant girl to remain at the mansion with Jamie to continue pretending to be his girlfriend. At the time, Jamie was a faux soldier for him.

Although she loved both Jamie and the Doctor very much, she grew tired of being constantly frightened from their journeys and longed for a peaceful, normal life. Her parents both being gone now, she could not find any reason to return to her own time and home, choosing instead to remain in England, though not her time period, with the Harris’ as her newly appointed parents. With a tearful goodbye to her friends, heartbroken for having to leave Jamie, she remained on the Earth while the others left to journey onward.
